The Agroecotechnology Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Mulawarman is a center for education, research, and community service in the field of sustainable agriculture based on the humid tropical agroecosystem of East Kalimantan. The study program applies Outcome-Based Education (OBE) while taking into account the Core Scientific Pattern of Universitas Mulawarman as well as the development of agricultural science and technology in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0.

Brief History
The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Mulawarman was established on 28 September 1962 under Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science Number 130 of 1962, with two departments: Agricultural Cultivation and Agricultural Social Economics. The Department of Agricultural Cultivation oversaw three study programs, namely Agronomy, Soil Science, and Plant Pest and Disease Science.
During 2005-2007 there was a decline in student interest in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, and forestry, which prompted a restructuring of the curriculum and institutions. Through the Indonesian Agricultural Higher Education Communication Forum in 2006 at Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado, it was agreed to merge the three study programs under the Department of Agricultural Cultivation into the Agroecotechnology Study Program, which was reinforced by Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 163/DIKTI/Kep/2007.
Universitas Mulawarman followed up on this policy through Rector's Decree No. 402/DT/2008. Since then, the three study programs have merged into the Agroecotechnology Study Program. The study program obtained accreditation B (2013-2017 and 2017-2022), Very Good accreditation from BAN-PT (2022-2027), and international ASIIN accreditation in March 2025.
