The laboratory is a supporting facility for the delivery of education within the Faculty, based on Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 9 of 2015 on the Organization and Work Procedures of Universitas Mulawarman (OTK Unmul). The Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture was first established through SK Rektor Unmul No. 1737/SK/2018 dated 6 September 2018. The Faperta Integrated Laboratory is expected to support the realization of the vision of the Faculty of Agriculture, namely "To Become an Excellent Higher Education Institution in the Field of Humid Tropical Agriculture".

The Faculty of Agriculture manages 16 laboratories spread across four departments/study programs as well as one faculty-level educational farm. Education, research, and community service in the field of Plant Biotechnology (molecular biology and non-conventional breeding). It occupies ±645 m² on the third floor of Gedung OECF with 3 screen houses, and offers DNA analysis as well as molecular markers that are generally not yet served by other laboratories in Kalimantan Timur.

Main facilities: Laminar Air Flow, Mini PCR, mini electrophoresis, fluorescence microscope, hybridisation oven & shaker, autoclave, freezer, and analytical balance.

Services: practical work (Tissue Culture & Plant Biotechnology, Plant Breeding, Plant Physiology), research and internships (including foreign students from KMUTT and Naresuan University), as well as community services (equipment/room loans, training, visits).

A laboratory of the THP Department that develops chemical aspects (phytochemistry, antioxidants), post-harvest technology (drying, fermentation, raw material extraction), and the packaging of agricultural products. Located in Gedung C9, 2nd floor, Kampus Gunung Kelua.

Services: phytochemical tests (phenols, flavonoids, tannins), β-carotene and vitamin C, antioxidants (DPPH/ABTS/FRAP), shelf-life analysis, raw material drying and extraction, as well as pH, viscosity, and color tests.

Main facilities: Gas Chromatography, HPLC, spectrophotometer, automatic bomb calorimeter, Kjeldahl apparatus, Soxhlet extractor, furnace, oven, digital balance, and centrifuge.

Services: proximate analysis, carbohydrates, oil quality (FFA, peroxide value), minerals (Ca, Fe, P), vitamin C, antioxidants, as well as gelatin and pectin extraction.

Animal Nutrition Laboratory

Established in 2005 and became the forerunner of the establishment of the Animal Science Study Program (2008). It focuses on the analysis of the chemical components of animal feed (proximate analysis) and the nutritional content of animal-based food materials, as well as the production of herbal feed additives; it has become a reference for feed sample analysis for many parties.

Services: practical work, research, community service, and feed quality testing services for farmers, related agencies, as well as the livestock and palm oil partnership industries.

Formed on 1 June 2013 as a place for lecturers and students to conduct research in the fields of animal production and animal product technology.

Main facilities: Texture Analyzer, Colour Analyzer, refrigerated microcentrifuge, meat grinder, pH meter, oven, sample storage freezer, and chicken collection coop.

Services: practical work in animal product technology (meat, milk, eggs) as well as the testing of meat products (cooking loss, tenderness, texture), eggs (Haugh Unit), and milk (Gerber fat, methylene blue reduction test).

Established in 2018 (SK Rektor No. 1737/SK/2018) covering the disciplines of animal breeding and genetics, animal physiology and reproduction, as well as reproductive biotechnology.

Main facilities: semen testing and artificial insemination unit, PCR, electrophoresis, ELISA, microscopes (including inverted microscope), incubator, as well as model animal cages.

Services: practical work (Animal Reproduction Science, Artificial Insemination, Animal Breeding Science) and research (cryopreservation of Nunukan chicken sperm, molecular sexing, and embryo teratology).

Teluk Dalam Experimental Farm

A field laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture covering ±18 ha in Desa Karang Tunggal, Kecamatan Tenggarong Seberang, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara (±25 minutes from Samarinda). It serves as a site for practical work and research for students and teaching staff, as well as a site for the conservation of germplasm of fruit plants and humid tropical medicinal plants.

Main facilities: a training building with a capacity of 100 people, guest house, agricultural mechanization equipment workshop, compost house, drying floor, green house, as well as chicken and cattle pens.

Services: practical work and research, plant cultivation training, the production of organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides, integrated pest management, as well as post-harvest technology.
