The Master's Study Program in Pertanian Tropika Basah (PS-MPTB) is a postgraduate (Master's) program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Mulawarman that focuses on advancing knowledge, technology, and human resources in the field of wet tropical agriculture.
Brief History
The program began in 2001 as a concentration within the Master's Program in Forestry Science at Universitas Mulawarman, then became independent in 2003 based on the License Letter of the Director General of DIKTI No. 132/D/t/2003 (License Letter of the Director General of DIKTI No. 182/D/T/2003) with 4 concentrations. The study program has since developed these concentrations into 6 specializations and has graduated more than 245 Masters of Agriculture.
Vision
To be a center for the advancement of knowledge and technology and the development of capable human resources in the field of wet tropical agriculture in the Southeast Asian region by 2028.
Mission
- To deliver PS-MPTB education that produces graduates with academic and managerial competence in managing agriculture in wet tropical environments.
- To conduct research and development of knowledge relevant to wet tropical agriculture, in order to establish the study program as a center for the advancement of wet tropical agriculture science and technology.
- To carry out community-service activities in wet tropical agriculture areas in order to advance the welfare of society.
Graduate Competencies and Profile
The study program explores current issues in sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural systems in the wet tropics from the aspects of productivity, economics, post-harvest and agricultural-product technology, sustainable agriculture, biotechnology and organic farming, water and land conservation, control of tropical plant pests and diseases, and agribusiness management.

Accreditation
Accredited with a Grade of B based on SK BAN-PT No. 1549/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/M/IV/2023 dated 26 April 2023.

Registration is conducted online through pmb.unmul.ac.id, with stages of administrative selection, a computer-based Academic Potential Test (TPA), an interview, and a TOEFL Test.
