The 2022 Curriculum Document for Undergraduate Study Programs is the official curriculum document for the undergraduate (S1) level of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Mulawarman. The curriculum is developed based on the study of Tropical Rainforest and its Environment, refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), and implements the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. This document is the result of a review of the 2018 Curriculum and came into effect in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
Background
The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Mulawarman, was established on 28 September 1962 (Presidential Decree KEPRES No. 65 of 1962), one day after the founding of Universitas Mulawarman. The Faculty manages four undergraduate departments/study programs and one postgraduate program. Since late 1999, the curriculum used has been the Competency Based Curriculum, which since 2013 was replaced with a KKNI-based curriculum. The Faculty carried out curriculum development and adjustments in 2015 and 2018, before refining it into the 2022 Curriculum.

Curriculum Model and Form
The curriculum is developed as an ideal curriculum with a model of development based on local excellence (also known as a contextual curriculum, a curriculum based on community life and technology, or a life-based curriculum). The local excellence of Universitas Mulawarman is the Pola Ilmiah Pokok "Study of Tropical Rainforest and its Environment", which is given new meaning, transformed, described, and integrated into all Tridarma activities and becomes the distinctive feature of the curriculum of the Faculty and study programs.

Underlying Vision and Mission
Universitas Mulawarman
Vision: An internationally standardized university capable of playing a role in national development through education, research, and community service that rests upon natural resources, particularly the tropical rain forest and its environment.
Faculty of Agriculture
Vision: To become a Higher Education Institution that excels in the field of Tropical Rainforest Agriculture. The Mission focuses on developing learning materials and methods that refer to the PIP of Unmul, strengthening research groups in tropical rainforest agriculture and the downstreaming of intellectual property, and synergistic cooperation with local governments.
Study of Tropical Rainforest as Local Excellence
The Study of Tropical Rainforest was chosen in accordance with the Faculty's field of expertise. All education, research, and community service activities rest upon this PIP as the distinctive feature that differentiates the Faculty of Agriculture of Unmul from similar faculties in Indonesia. Although the area of tropical rainforest continues to shrink, Universitas Mulawarman still makes it a subject of study and local excellence so that commitment, moral responsibility, concern, and participation of the academic community may grow to maintain, protect, and preserve the tropical rainforest and its environment. Details of this interpretation are available on the Interpretation of PIP Tropical Rainforest and its Environment page.
Implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM)
Referring to Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3 of 2020 Article 18, students may fulfill their study period and study load in two ways: by following all learning within the study program, or partly within and partly outside the study program. The right to study outside the study program includes:
- 1 (one) semester or the equivalent of 20 credits (SKS) in another relevant study program within Universitas Mulawarman.
- At most 2 (two) semesters or the equivalent of 40 credits (SKS) in the same (or a different) study program at a higher education institution outside Universitas Mulawarman.
The 2022 Curriculum provides Free Form (MBKM) courses and elective courses to accommodate this study right, especially starting from semester V.
Structure and Graduate Profile per Study Program
Each undergraduate study program establishes its graduate profile, Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), and course structure per semester (eight semesters). For example, the Agroecotechnology Study Program establishes three graduate profiles and the following four domains of CPL.
